1) The area of the equilateral triangle with a side of 12cm  =  6 * 12[sqrt(3)/2]  = [72/2] * sqrt(3)  = 36sqrt(3) cm^2

 

The area of the square with the diagonal  of 8 cm  = [8/sqrt(2)]^2  = [64/2] = 32 cm^2

 

2)  Area of a square with a diagonal  of 12sqrt(2)cm ........the side =  12sqrt(2)/sqrt(2)  = 12cm

 

So the area = side^2  =   [12cm]^2  = 144 cm^2
