MathNoobFIN: Hey , how can I type x^2-16/4x-16 in to the calculator so the 4x-16 will be under the x^2-16? The calculator only puts only 4 under the 16.
That is what brackets are for, both in writing here and on a calculator!
( x^2-16) / (4x-16)
You have to factorise the top and the bottom seperately first.
The top is a difference of 2 squares .
Hint: a
2- b
2 = (a+b) (a - b)
The bottom you just factorise normally
Then you cancel common factors.
I hope that is enough help, but if it is not ask again.
