Let a = 3x, b = 5y, c = -6z

 

Given that (x, y, z) is a solution to the original system of equations, determine all distinct possible values of x+y.

The solutions (x,y,z) are (3,1,2), (-4,1,-3/2), and (5/3,9/2,2).  You can figure out the possible values of x + y from there.
