I posted an hour ago under anonymous, made an account so I could respond. I need help with parabolic equations. I have trouble simplifying them to the vertical or horizontal parabola equation form, and being able to tell which equation matches with which info set, e.g. it gives me the focus point and the directrix, and asks which of a set of equations fits it. Any help is appreciated

It is hard to think when the question is vague.

Can you give us an exact example and we can talk you through it?

Thank you, but I figured it out with some help from a tutor. The instructions in the lesson never mentioned foiling the (x-h)^2 and (y-k)^2 in the equation to get a x= or y= equation. Once I figured this out, it was smooth sailing. Thanks for the link though!
