i was fine with math until letters got involved...
Letters are easy. They are just pretend numbers.
Remember how you used to put missing numbers in boxes sometimes.
Well a letter is just the same as that box was.
Instead of putting the missing number in the box. You say box (letter) = number.
As Melody said that is bascically all of what the letters do in math
