Each side of a rhombus has length 6.One of the angles of the rhombus is 120 degrees. Find the area of the rhombus.

i'm pretty sure the area is 36.. i am not sure why they included the fact that one of the angles of the rhombus was 120 degrees. try this answer.

A rhombus could be a square, but it aint necessarily so.

This rhombus is not a square, think of it as a 6 by 6 square bashed on one of its top corners.

Its area will be less than 36.

We have two triangles with sides of 6  and an included angle of 120°   between these sides

 

The area  = 

 

2 (1/2) 6^2 sin (120)  =

 

36 √3/ 2 =  

 

18√2   units^2
