If 5y=3x ; does 5=3x/y is that possible? getting one exponent to other side for solving the equation? Thank you

You are correct.

 

5^y = 3^y

 

\(\sqrt[y]{5^y}\)  =  \(\sqrt[y]{3^x}\)

 

5  =  (3^x)^(1/y)  =  3^(x/y)
