(x/2 - 3/x) ^2 = 5^2

X^2/4 - 3 + 9/x^2 = 25

X^2/4 + 9/x^2 = 25 + 3 = 28

x/2-3/x=5

Multiply 2x to both sides

x^2-6=10x

Subtract 10x from both sides

x^2-10x-6=0

Add 6 to both sides

x^2-10x=6

→x(x-10)=6

x=$${\mathtt{5}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\sqrt{{\mathtt{31}}}}$$ or $${\mathtt{5}}{\mathtt{\,-\,}}{\sqrt{{\mathtt{31}}}}$$

So, x^2/4+9/x^2=28
