If you square any number will it always result in a "perfect" square?

any integer, yes.  any number, no.  you can square pi, and it will be whatever pi^2 is, but it wouldn't be a perfect square.  A perfect square is the square of any integer.

Thanks anon,

I'm not sure, is 4/9 a perfect square?  Perhaps someone would like to google that.
