In a triangle ABC is
a) Determine the angles when cos A = 3 sin A
b) Determine the angles when their A = 3 cos A
Assuming we are working with a RIGHT triangle:
cos a = 3 sin a
1/3 = tan a = sin /cos
arctan(1/3) = 18.43 degrees
18.43 + 90 + x = 180 x = 71.57 degrees and the 90 degree angle
sin a = 3 cos a
sin/cos = 3
arctan(3) = 71.57 degrees and 18.43 degrees and 90 degrees (as before)
