In right △ABC, the right angle is at C, m∠A=30∘, and AC=7√2 units.
What is the perimeter of △ABC?
Not sure if you've heard of 30 60 90 triangles, so if you haven't, you can look it up :)
Since we know it's a right triangle, and one of the angles is 30, this triangle is a 30 60 90 triangle.
If AC = 7√2, BC = (7√2) / √3, and BA = 2(BC)
BC = (7√2) / √3
= (7√6) / 3
BA = 2 * ((7√6) / 3)
= (14√6) / 3
This means the perimeter of the triangle = 7√2 + (7√6) / 3 + (14√6) / 3
= 7(√6 + √2) units
Hope this helps :)
P.S. I still haven't found out how to type fractions neatly, so I'm sorry if it's a bit hard to follow :(
