The sum of the interior angles of a triangle is 180o

I'll set up the equation for you:   (16x + 4) + (14x + 6) + 50  =  180

combine like terms                       30x + 60  =  180

subtract 60 from both sides                 30x  =  120

divide both sides by 30                            x  =  4

Check the answer     16x + 4  =  64 + 4  =  68

                                 14x + 6  =  56 + 6  =  62

                                                                  50

 Total ...................................................... 180

Where did the 50 come from?

That unlabeled interior angle is the supplementary angle of 130o

Supplementary angles total 180o

50o is the supplementary angle on the other side of the 130o angle.

A straight line is 180o so when you add a line that makes two angles on it, the two total 180o.

I feel that I'm not doing a good job of explaining it.  Use google to look up supplementary angle
