the sum of the interior angles of the triangle is 180 so angle 3 +4=3+55+20

You are close

 

Note that    3 and 4 are supplemental....so  3 + 4 = 180     (1) 

 

And 3 + 20° + 55°   = 180     (2)

 

Equating (1) and (2) we have

 

3 + 4 =    3 + 20° + 55°          subtract  3 from both sides

 

So....

 

4 =  20°+ 55°
