Here's the question:

On a road trip from Buffalo, New York, to St. Augustine, Florida, a family wants to travel at least 250 mi in the first 5 h of driving. What should their average speed be in order to meet this goal? Write and solve an inequality.

Please help, and thanks in advance!!

Average speed=Distance travelled/ hours spent driving=250/5=50 miles per hour. That's the average speed they must drive.

5(2x-3)≥15x : Here is an inequality. You solve it as follows:

5(2x-3)≥15x   simplify the left side

10x - 15 ≥ 15x    add 15 to both sides........subtract 15x  from both sides

-5x ≥ 15    divide both sides by -5 and reverse the inequality sign

x  [less than or equal to] -3
