how do you find the sum of an infinite geometric series?

Oops.....I forgot that you were asking about an infinite series......!!!

 

The sum, S, is given by :

 

S =  a / ( 1 - r)     where "a" is the first term  and "r "  is the common difference between terms....of course, the series must be convergent to produce a finite sum.......[ i.e., the common difference must be between -1  and 1]
