HOW TO UPLOAD A PICTURE.

NOTE: ONLY MEMBERS HAVE THE ABILITY TO POST PICTURES.

I have expanded on Alan's outline to make this instructions post.  Thanks Alan

We used to be able to upload .jpg and .gif  pictures directly to the forum.

That is no longer working but there is another method which works fine.

It is slightly longer  surprise   but it is  not to bad when you get used to it.       laugh

"Unfortunately.......the app that enables us to upload images directly to the forum  is not working at this time....."

A workaround (temporary I hope!) is as follows:

1)  Outside of the forum go to :  http://tinypic.com/?t=postupload

2)  Ignore the stuff that says "1 message waiting for you" (it's just advertising)

3)   To upload an image click on "choose file"

4) Negotiate to the file that you want to upload

***    Here I am uploading 140104 drawing an elipse. JPG

5)  Sometimes you have to fill in an anti spam box like this.

Once you have done that you can press  upload.

6) Copy the URL that appears in the last (bottom) box.

7) Return to the forum and choose the Image icon.

8) Paste the URL into the URL box on the "Image info" tab and click on OK.   [Do not press upload]

Please comment on whether these notes work for you.

If you still can't make it work try and tell me where you can get up to.

Hi Andre,

Maybe you have fixed it now, but that method for posting pics has not worked for a very long time!

For a while no one posted pics and then Alan worked it out and told us how to by pass the problem    frown

I will see if the proper method is working again :/

No it didn't work.  It got further than it did before.

Before the second tab was just a blank page and now it is displaying properly and I can choose a picture BUT it still refuses to put the pic into the post. :/

Hi  Coldplay,

Try this,

Highlight the url (that is the address) that you want to copy then press [ctrl] and [c] at the same time. That should copy it over to your clipboard.

Then go to where you want to paste it

Put your curser in the right place

and  use [ctrl] [v] to paste it in.

See is that works :/

(This is just the standard copy and paste shortcut, you can use it anywhere  :/)

Please note that this post is 18 months old!

I did not make it a priority question, someone else has done that.

I think guests can upload pictures now.

Still, I think the instructions are all still valid so maybe someone can learn something from it while it remains so visable. :/

It would be in the stickynotes somewhere anyway... I'll include it more visably. :/
