Isolate X, you have to put alle the X's on the same side.

2x - 7/8 + x = 2x + 7/2 + 8

2x + x - 2x = 7/2 + 8 - 7/8

2x + x - 2x = 99/8

x = 99/8

An alternative to copy and paste is
highlight, right click, select "goto" . For me this is easier.
