Anita's sister had $6000 to invest. She invested part of this sum at 4% and the other part at 6%. If the annual return on the 6% investment is $15 more than the annual return on the 4% investment, find how much is invested at 6% rate.

Let the amount invested @ 6% =A
Amount invested @ 4%             =6000 - A
Let the return on 4% investment =R
0.04*[6000 - A] = R.................................(1)
0.06A =R + 15...........................................(2), solve for A, R
A = $2,550 - amount invested @ 6%
$6,000 - $2,550 =$3,450 - amount invested @ 4%

R = $138.00 - return on the 4% investment.
$138 + $15 =$153 - return on the 6% investment.

f = 4% amount     interest from = .04f

6000 - f = 6% amount     interest from = .06 (6000-f)    and it also =.04f+15

.06(6000-f) = .04f + 15

solve for f = 3450          you can take it from here.....
