Hello,

Iodine-131 , which has a half life of 8 days, is used to helpt see the thyroid gland in CT scans. If a patient is given an injection of 10 micrograms, then the nhumber of micrograms in the body t days afterthe injection is given by :

A(t) = 10(1-2) ^t/8. What is the amount in the person's body after 5 days ? Round to the nearest tenth of a microgram ?

Please someone help me :( I try to figure it out alone  but I can't !

Thank you so much

I know t = 0 right ?

So do I HAVE TO PLUG 0 for T and then calculate ?

Thank you

I think this should be A(t) = 10e-ln(2)*t/8

After 5 days  A(5) = 10e-ln(2)*5/8 ≈ 6.5 micrograms

.
