If friction slows the acceleration of decent of a 2.5kg object by 2.6m/s2, what is the amount of force from friction exerted on the object? I know f=ma  My answer was 6500.  If that is not correct, can you show me the steps to get the correct answer?

You should get 6.5 Newtons.  (2.5kg*2.6m/s2 = 6.5 kg.m/s2 = 6.5N)
