Is the sequence geometric? If so, identify the common ratio. 2,-4,-16,-36, ...

 a. yes; -2

 b. yes; 2

It is not geometric......for it to be geometric, the ratio between successive terms must be equal

So .......

Ratio of second term to the first term  = -4 / 2      = -2

But

Ratio of the third term to the second term  = -16/-4 =  4

cool cool cool

D)

Beacuse in a Geometric series you MULTIPLY by the same number over and over again while a arithmetic sequence you add or subtract by the same number over and over again. in this case it is doing nither which makes the awnser D..
