YES !!!. Look at it this way: sqrt(4)^2 = [sqrt(4)]^2 =4 =4 !!
As long as x ≥ 0
For instance....if x = -3, we have
sqrt [ (-3)^2 ] = sqrt (9) = 3
But
[ sqrt (-3) ]^2 = [ i sqrt (3) ] ^2 = i^2 * 3 = -3
