How comes you call this a scientific calculator and it cannot solve this problem properly?

+37091 We have this discussion almost daily, with almost the same numbers.....the issue is : You question, as written, is AMBIGUOUS.....it depends on what you MEAN......MOST calculators will interpret your question as meaning
(6/2) x (1+2)
BUT you may find a very few that inerpret your input (as written) as
6 / (2 x (1+2) )
Most of us here, and the calculators agree, that as you have it written it is interpreted as the former NOT the latter !!!

Put math-brackets
\(\large(6/2)*(1+2)=(\frac{6}{2})\times(1+2)=9\)
\(\large6/(2(1+2))=\frac{6}{2(1+2)}=1\)
