We have this discussion almost daily, with almost the same numbers.....the issue is : You question, as written, is AMBIGUOUS.....it depends on what you MEAN......MOST calculators will interpret your question as meaning

(6/2)  x (1+2)

BUT you may find a very few that inerpret your input (as written) as

6 / (2 x (1+2) )

Most of us here, and the calculators agree, that as you have it written it is interpreted as the former NOT the latter !!!

And I can use BOLDFACE TYPE AND COLOR.....

6/2(1+2)

This term is not unique.
Put math-brackets

\(\large(6/2)*(1+2)=(\frac{6}{2})\times(1+2)=9\)

\(\large6/(2(1+2))=\frac{6}{2(1+2)}=1\)

laugh !

What are you talking about - I just put it in and it answered perfectly.

This calculator is definitely smarter than SOME of its users!

6/2(1+2) = 9

I can use bold type too - How about that !
