Hello.  I am supposed to find out the population growth rate of 48,146,134 by 0.89% for 1 year, 10 years, 100 years and 1000 years.  The professor said my calculations were off because of the percentage conversion being wrong in my problem.  I did it like this: 48,146,134(1+0.0089)^1  and 10, 100 and 1000.  What did I do wrong?  My answers were:

52,431,140 for 1 year

112,980,256 for 10 years

242, 856,312 for 100 years and

513,582,636 for 1000 years.  Please help me see where I went wrong

I believe that you entered 48 146 134( 1 + 0,089 ) ^ 1  (etc.)

I believe that you thought that you entered  1 + 0 .0089  but you actually entered  1 + 0.089  for each of the problems.
