ACTUALLY, you have it posted incorrectly....you left out the negative AND the -b part is also divided by 2a
x= (-b+-sqrt(b^2-4ac))/(2*a)
\(x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}\)
