I'm assuming that  38% and 40%   are actually 38°  and 40°, respectively

 

 

Height of Kate's kite =  864*sin(38)  = about 531.9 ft

 

Height of Matt's kite = 725*sin(40)  = about 466.02 ft.

Sin(38)=Height/864

0.6156614 =H/864

H=864 x 0.6156614

H=~532 feet- Katie's kite height.

 

Sin(40) =H/725

0.6427876=H/725

H=0.6427876 x 725

H=~466 feet-Matt's kite height.
