Let's look at this one again h7.......

The perimeter = 24

And 2W = L

And the perimeter is given by

P = 2(W+ L)  so

P = 2(W + 2W)

24 = 2(3W)

24 = 6W      divide both sides by 6

4 = W

And 2(4) = L = 8

So the ;ength is 8 and the width is 4

Check

24 = 2(4 + 8)

24 = 2(12)

24 = 24    check

So in 24 feet, the length is twice as long as the width

So 8*2=16

16+8=24

16 and 8 are length and width
