A line on a linear graph has the coordinates of 12, 27 and 5, 9.

How would I work out the gradient of the line?

Thanks

(12, 27)   (5, 9)

The gradient  (slope)  =

[ subtract the y coordinates in some order ]  / [subtract the x coordinates in the same order ]

So we have

[ 27 - 9 ]  /  [ 12  - 5 ]  =

[ 18 ]  / [ 7 ]  =

18 / 7
