If x = log10 2460 the value of x is between two consecutive integers.. Name these intergers and explain how you determined their value.

The two integers are 3 and 4......

 

In exponential form.....your  log equation is  10x = 2460

 

Note

 

103 = 1000

 

And

 

104 = 10000

 

So

 

3 < log102460 < 4

Well, obviously, if x = log2460 just figure out what log 2460   IS !

log 2460 = 3.39      So 'x' is between  3   and   4

you should know that log 100 = 2      right?

 

Well log 1000  =  3     right?

and log 10000 = 4      yah?

 

well 2460 is between   1000 and 10,000   right?    So log 2460 must be between  3 and 4 !
