1. Let f(x)=15/1+4e−0.2x .

What are the asymptotes of the graph of f(x)?

Select each correct answer.

y = 4

y = -0.2

y = 0 (I know this is one of them)

y = 15

Can someone please help me find the second one?

Thank you.

2.  Let f(x)=15/1+4e−0.2x .

What is the point of maximum growth rate for the logistic function f(x) ?

Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.

(15, 4)

(4.56, 15)

(6.93, 7.5)

(0, 3)

f(x)  =       15

           ___________

            1  + 4e-0.2x

Note  that  when  x  is  more and more  negative.......the  denomiator gets  larger  and larger. this means  that the  function approaches  0  in this direction...so....you are  correct....one asymptote =  y  = 0

And as  x  gets extremely "large"    4e-0.2x   approaches    0

So    the other  asymptote  is

             15

y =      ______   =     15

             1 + 0
