hi,
This is a continuation of your other question that I just answered.
TC = Q[ (12/Q^2)+ (Q/2) ]

The marginal cost is the cost of producing just 1 more units.
The units will not all cost the same amount. The marginal cost of the 6th unit is the actual cost of the 6th unit.

You find this by differentiating TC

TC = 12/Q + 0.5Q 2 (so far I have only simplified)

TC = 12Q -1 + 0.5Q 2

MC = -12Q -2 + Q

MC = Q - 12/Q 2

So, is you wanted the marginal cost of the 6th item you would substitute Q=6. etc.

One of the main this that I want you to get from this is that when you see M like, MC or MR or MProfit, you need to DIFFERENTIATE.
