A community college has 3,000 students and 90 instructors. The college plans that
enrollment will be 3,500 next year. How many new instructors should be hired if the
college wants to keep the same student to instructor ratio?

(90*3500)/3000

the munber of teaher hired fro the 3500 student should be same as the ratio of present condiion the ratio is given as
3000/90= 500/x
or x= (3000*500)/90
x=15
total no. of teacher will be 90 + 15 = 105
now cross check can do
90/3000 = 0.03
105/3500 = 0.03
