newbie321:

y intercept of sqrt(x+4) - 1

f(x) = sqrt(x+4) - 1

y-intercept is the value of function f(x) with 0 as value for x.

f(0) = sqrt(x+4) - 1 = sqrt(0+4) - 1 = sqrt(4) - 1 = 2 - 1 = 1

to plot function, enter "plot( sqrt(x+4) - 1, x=-1..1, 0..2)" in calculator input
