5000% = 50*100%= 50
so you have to find 1/50th of 2500
which equals 50

after:
a: stickers of ann at the end
b: stickers of james at the end
a+b=117 (If they had a total of 117 stickers)
b=2*a (james has twice as ann stickers)
[input]solve( a+b=117, b=2*a )[/input]
{a=39, b=78}

or solve by hand: a+(2*a)=117 => 3a=117 => a=117/3=39 , b=2*a => b=2*39=78

before:
aa: stickers of ann at the beginning
bb: stickers of james at the beginning

aa*0.75=a (ann gave jamES 25% of her stickers)
aa=a/0.75=39/0.75= 52
bb=117-52= 65

let's check:
(52*0.75)+(65+52*0.25)= 117
