8^3 = 8 x 8 x 8 = 512

What is 8 to the third power?

$8^{1/3}=\sqrt[3]{8}=2\\ because\\ 2*2*2=8$

Is 8 to the second power =8^1/2 =sqrt(8)??. Or 8^2 =64?
