There's a guy at work that has the following equation: 6-1x0+2/2= ? His answer is 7 He enters the equation into his iphone just as it reads and the answer is 7. This is not right and I told him the answer is 1. When you say 0 x a number the result is 0. I can enter the same equation into my phone calculator as it reads and the answer is 1. How can I show this guy that the calculator in his phone is not reading it correctly? Also if I plug the same equation into the web2.0calc it will have the same answer 7.

6-1x0+2/2 = 6-0+2/2 = 6-0+1 = 6+1 = 7

6-1x0+2/2 = 6-0+2/2 = 6-0+1 = 6+1 = 7

MY HUSBAND SAID THE ANSWER IS PROBABLY 7 BECAUSE THE RULE OF MATH SAYS IF THERE ARE NO ()'S THEN YOU MUST DO MULTIPLICATION AND DIV FIRST THEN ADD AND SUBTRACT.

(6-1)x0+2/2=0+1=1

but

6-1x0+2/2=6-(1x0)+2/2=6-0+1=7

you must do this order of operations.
6-1x0+2/2 (multiply 1x0 first)
6-0+2/2 (then divide 2/2)
6-0+1 (then add 6+0+1)
7!!! Not 1!!!!
