A town in Alaska records a temperature of -4 degrees Fahrenheit at 8 am. By noon, the temperature rises 20 degrees Fahrenheit. What is the temperature at noon? 

 

It takes the first 4 degrees to get up to zero. 

That leaves 16 degrees to go beyond zero. 

So the answer is 16^o F.
