f(x) = 3x-7 and g(x) = -2x - 6. Find (f * g)(4)

[f * g](4)   means that we want to multipy these two functions together and then evaluate the resulting function for x = 4   ....so we have

[3x - 7] * [ -2x - 6]   =  -6x^2 + 14x -18x + 42  =   -6x^2 - 4x + 42

Now....replace the x's  with 4

-6*4^2 - 4(4)  + 42  =

-96 - 16 + 42  =

-70

cool cool cool
