In designing a new garden, Al has budgeted $215 a circular patio next to the garden. The diameter of the patio is 15 feet and concrete is $0.32/ft2 . Explain if Al has enough budgeted for the patio?

Circumference of patio = dπ

                                     = 15π feet

                                     = 15 * 3.142 feet (taking π = 3.142)

                                     = 47.13 feet

What do you mean by "concrete"? If we are asked if Al has enough budgeted for the patio, then we must find the height of the patio!!

I will now assume that the height of the patio is h feet.

47.13 * h = 47.13 h square feet

47.13 h square feet * $0.32 ≈ $15.08 h

If :

$15.08 > $215, then Al doesn't have enough money budgeted.

If:

$15.08 ≤ $215, then he has enough money budgeted.
