Hey Jared, I think there is something wrong with your notation
x^2 means x
2 so x^+8x + 14 - x^-2x = 51 is a little hard for me to interpret.
Could you please rewrite the equation in a similar form
Note that
* = multiplication
/ = division
^ = to the power of (you can also use [sup'] [/sup'] without the '.
It might also be helpful to put some brackets in there.
