Take 3x off both sides - that will result in all the xes being on the same side.
There will be a number in front of the x.
You have to work put how to get rid of that number (with +, -, x, or divide) And then you will have to do it to both sides.
Then you will have your answer.

First subtract 5x -3x and get 2x so if 2x equals 4, 4/2 =2

So x=2
