The weight of a honeybee is 1.2 x 10-1g. The weight of the pollen collected by the bee on one trip is 6.0 x 10-2g.  What is the combined weight of the bee and the pollen?

 "x"means times by the way its not a variable!

 1.2 x 10^-1 = 0.12

 6.0 x 10^-2 = 0.06   (edited)

add             = 0.18g     or 1.8*10^(-1) g      (edited)

Melody made a small typo. =0.18g = 1.8 x 10^-1g.
