If a square's diagonal is sqrt2, what is the side length of the square?

Using Pythagorean Theorem for the diagonal (hypotenuse)    s = side length

s^2 + s^2 = (sqrt2)^2

2 s^2 = 2

s^2 = 1

s = 1   (unit)
