If Xavier wants to get into the League, then he/she must swim at 100m / 55 seconds=1 9/11 m/s.

But he/she swims can swim at 5/3=1 2/3 m/s. Is his speed 1 2/3 m/s greater than the required speed of 1 9/11? Can you figure it out yourself? Which is greater: 1 9/11 or 1 2/3? If you get stuck, then you can get back to us!. Bye.

(5/3)m / 1s   =  1.66 m/s

100m/55s = 1.818 m/s

It appears that he doesn't quite swim fast enough......
