Xavier earned a score of 475 on Exam A that had a mean of 550 and a standard deviation of 25. He is about to take Exam B that has a mean of 550 and a standard deviation of 100. How well must Xavier score on Exam B in order to do equivalently well as he did on Exam A?

Score 475 is   three standard deviations below the mean of 550   ( 25 x 3 )

  three standard deviations below 550 mean on exam B would be   550 - 3*100 = 250
