What logarithm means?

Basicall the logarithm of a number is the EXPONENT to which TEN needs to be raised to get that number   (this is called a BASE 10 logarithm)

 

100 = 10^2    so the LOG of 100 is '2'  (the exponent)

45 = 10^(1.653)   so the LOG (45) = 1.653
