slope = change in rise / change in run

slope = (0 - -2) / (-6 - 2)

slope = (2) / (-8)

slope = -1/4

y = mx + b,         where m is slope and b is the y-intercept.

Just plug in what you know and solve for b.

0 = (-1/4)(-6) + b

-b = 3/2

b = -3/2
