First fill up the 5kg milk pot.  Next dump 3kg in the 3kg milk pot leaving 2kg in the 5kg milk pot.  Next dump out the 3kg milk pot.  Next dump the 5kg milk pot into the 3kg milk potf leaving 2kg in the 3kg milk pot.  Next fill up the 5kg milk pot.  Next dump out 1kg into the 3kg milk pot leaving 4kg in the 5kg milk pot.

Fill up the 5kg pot and pour the contents into the 3kg pot

Pour out the contents of the 3kg pot......the 5 kg  pot has 2kg remaining in it....pour these into the 3 kg pot.....the 3 kg pot now contains 2 kg

Fill up the 5kg pot.....pour 1 kg into the 3 kg pot

The 5 kg pot now contains exactly 4 kg

1. fill up the 3kg milk pot.

2. put it in the 5kg milk pot. The 5 kg pot now contains 3 kg

3. fill up the 3kg milk pot again.

4. put it in the 5kg milk pot. The 5 kg pot now contains 5 kg. The 3kg milk pot now contains 1kg.

5. void the 5kg milk pot.

6. put the 1kg (of the 3kg milk pot) in the 5kg milk pot. The 5 kg pot now contains 1 kg.

7. fill up the 3kg milk pot.

8 put it in the 5 kg mild pot. The 5 kg pot now contains 4 kg.
