What is the surface area of a square pyramid with a base perimeter of 32 and a lateral edge of 4

Lateral edge length = e =4 = sqrt(h^2 + 1/2 a^2 )       h=height  a = side length (8----- since it is a square  32/4 = 8)

Hmmmmmm....

                       

I would ask if you have your numbers entered correctly in your question !    Lateral edge of 4????   maybe a different value?

I looked at this earlier and I agree wiih EP......

 

Each side of the base  = 8

 

Thus....each face can be divided into two congruent right triangles..........and each of these would have a "bottom" leg  = 4.....and in each case, the lateral edge of 4 would serve as a hypotenuse....however......a leg can never = a hypotenuse.....
