1+2=3

a^5+b^5

1^5+2^5

1+32=33

a^5+b^5=32

 

32 must be the answer unless it is in decimals.

Good try, lynx...but notice that it might also be true that

 

a + b  =  3

0 + 3  =  3

 

So........

 

0^5  + 3^5   =   243  !!!!

Actually....I think an infinite number of things could work

 

Note

 

-3 + 6  = 3

 

But

 

(-3)^5  + 6^5  =  7533
